Honey-Ginger Throat Soothing Drops (aka Candy!)

July 29, 2022 Guest User

While educating on some of the many ways that honey is traditionally used, students learned that honey can be used to help soothe a sore throat. We whipped up some homemade honey drops for students to sample for themselves. We have the recipe listed below for you to try at home!

Ingredients:

-1/2 cup honey

-1 tsp fresh grated ginger

-1 Tbsp lemon juice

-1 tsp cinnamon

-1/2 tsp cardamom

Directions:

1.In a saucepan on medium low eat, mix all the ingredients and stirring often.

2. Bring the mixture to 310F using a candy thermometer. If you do not have a thermometer, you can test them by dropping some of the mixture in ice water. If it hardens, it’s finished.

3.Using a spoon, place drops of the mixture on parchment paper to harden. Once hardened you can coat the drops in arrowroot, cornstarch, or powdered sugar to keep them from sticking in the container.
