Through our Farm-to-School and Farm-to-Community programs, here’s how we've engaged with Sheboygan County kids, families and community members over the last couple of years:

2019 Farm-to-School:

Field trips to the Nourish Farm in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin: More than 150 students came to our 13-acre educational farm and teaching kitchen to help plant, harvest, prepare and cook seasonal produce.

Nourish Good Food Club: Nearly 300 students in three school districts attended weekly experiential programs that focused on planting seeds, plant anatomy, composting and cooking nutritious recipes.

Early Care Education: Collaborating with the Above & Beyond Children’s Museum, Nourish piloted a three-day Harvest of the Month snack program for kids ages 2-5, who engaged with a variety of spices through sensory play and learning how to make an easy, nutrient-dense snack.

School Gardens: Nourish has started three school garden programs, where elementary students plant, maintain and harvest their local gardens and learn the science of growing good food.

Farm-to-Community:

Nourish started an on-site vegetable garden at the local women’s transitional shelter – Bridgeway & Beyond – to educate the residents about growing fresh, seasonal produce.

To help their employees “Maintain, Don’t Gain,” Sartori Cheese hired Nourish to provide them four, bi-weekly kits about healthier eating habits during the holidays. The customized kits included new recipes, nutrition facts, portion-size education and how to eat the colors of the rainbow even in the cold, winter months.

Nourish showcased their composting practices to members of the Sheboygan County Sustainability Business Network.

The local Girl Scouts organization helped Nourish build 4,000 square-feet of perennial pollinator gardens on the Nourish property. Through its monthly Community Dinners, Nourish and local chefs introduced hundreds of Sheboygan County residents to seasonal, local foods – topped with recipe inspiration to prepare such foods at home.
