Celebrate tomato season with Nourish Farms at our Farm-to-Table Cooking & Gardening Class on Tuesday, September 16, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. This hands-on experience is perfect for gardeners, home cooks, and tomato lovers of all ages.
We'll begin in the garden, where you'll learn the basics of planting, growing, and harvesting tomatoes. Then we'll head into the kitchen to discover how to preserve your harvest through canning while making a delicious homemade pasta sauce together.
Join us for our annual fundraiser to benefit Nourish! You are invited to spend the evening on a field trip across Nourish Farms' 13-acre Educational Farm. Step into the role of a local student and see the work the way our young people see it.
The evening begins at 5:00pm with a Grown-Up Field Trip (read: cocktail hour) out on the grounds. Sample appetizers featuring recipes from our Farm to School field trips, try a hands-on activity in the hoop house, and cross the campus at your own pace. Who knows, you may even get your hands dirty.
At 7:00pm we head upstairs to the loft in the Miley Barn for a farm-to-table buffet dinner featuring Nourish favorites. Then a short program, the Good Food Champion Award, and a reverse auction led by a professional auctioneer. The reverse auction is the moment of the night to give directly to this work.
Nourish teaches people to grow good food, source good food, cook with good food, and enjoy it. For one night, you get to do all four.
Every field trip has a dress code and ours is farmer casual: jeans, boots, a button down...and extra points for a punny farmer t-shirt! If you need inspiration, ask our Farm & Facilities Manager Tanya - you might find her wearing her “Sometimes I Wet My Plants” tee!

In July, we’ll be learning all about container planting and herbs & spices In the garden, guests will take a deep dive into how we can plant in small spaces. In the kitchen we will focus on herbs and spices making a tasty taco meal.

"My name is Kweku Korankye, an undergraduate freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Environmental Engineering. I hope to integrate ecosystems into communities to combat climate change. This started with my interest in nature as a child, through nature documentaries, educational programs, and spending a lot of time in nature. Later on, this got integrated with engineering once I got involved with robotics in high school. Ever since, I have been passionate about raising awareness about soils and ecosystems, especially through my work with the Save Soil Movement. I will share information about the Save Soil Movement and how everyone can get involved in its mission to advance soil health. See you soon!"

Join us for a calming and immersive introduction to the world of matcha. Japan’s vibrant green tea known for its rich flavor, mindful preparation, and cultural depth.
In this hands-on, one-hour workshop, you’ll be guided through the fundamentals of matcha—from how it’s grown and stone-milled in Japan to how to properly prepare it at home. Each guest will learn how to whisk their own bowl of matcha using traditional techniques and tools, creating a moment of intention and ritual to take with them beyond the class.
