Join Nourish and Randy Stoche for a Beginner Bonsai Class! From 5:00-7:30PM on July 15, learn the art of Bonsai from an expert with over 40 years of experience! The cost of the class is $45 per registrant, each participant will go home with their own plant.

Get to know Randy and more about the class:

"In the 1980’s, I started a small company around plants, called GreenThumbs. My motto was, 'Let’s Put Some Greenery In Your Scenery'. I basically took care of plants in offices and for companies, like banks and schools. I became a Master Gardener for the State of Wisconsin to help with my knowledge of care; from pests, fertilization, climate control and zone applications for plant species. I also planted and trimmed trees and bushes, including fruit, such as apples, cherries, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. I was also into Bonsai plantings and have incorporated the practice in every aspect of Horticulture.

You can practically make any plant into Bonsai, whether a tree, bush, houseplant, fruit bearing plants or flowering plants. The process is limiting the size of the roots, trimming the plant itself to sustain the planting accordingly and caring for it the same way you would otherwise. The process can save space when it is limited, making use of what’s available and needed.

The class starts with a bit of history of the Bonsai practice and different aspects of growing them. We then have the class pick out a tree to bonsai and a pot out of the several varieties provided.

At the end of the day, everyone goes home with a Bonsai that they’ve actually made themselves with instructions for ongoing care."

Pre-registration for this class is required. Registration will close five days ahead of the class date. Nourish reserves the right to cancel this class should the minimum number of participants not be met. In this instance, the class will be refunded in full.
