Community Resources

If you’re interested in supporting a healthy community, food system and economy, there are many ways to get behind this good-food movement.

CSAs: Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. Consider subscribing to a local CSA program.

Located in downtown Sheboygan, Goodside Grocery is a cooperatively owned, volunteer-run grocery store. It is a full-service store on 8th Street in Sheboygan that offers dairy, meat, produce, dry and canned goods, frozen items and bulk grains that are locally and sustainably sourced.

Farmer’s Markets:

● In Sheboygan: Every Wednesday and Saturday mornings in Fountain Park, the Sheboygan Farmer’s Market brings together dozens of local and family farmers, businesses and food stands. Support your local producers.

● In Plymouth: From June 16-October 16, each Thursday, noon – 5:30 pm , at the Fairfield Plaza on Eastern Ave.

● In Elkhart Lake: The Farmer and Artisan Market is open every Saturday from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm in downtown Elkhart Lake on Rhine Ave.

● In the winter months, the Winter Farmer’s Market takes place, on a smaller scale, at First Congregational Church in Sheboygan on the first and third Saturdays from November-May. Get involved with other good-food projects:

GROW: Gardening Reshapes Our World is a program of the First Congregational Church in Sheboygan. G.R.O.W. aims to promote urban gardening techniques and to provide quality food for other populations within the Sheboygan community.

Sustainable Living Group: Their mission is to provide education to the general community about the possible uses and benefits of sustainable living practices, renewable energy and energy efficiency.

United Way of Sheboygan County: Nourish receives funds each year from the UWOSC that helps support a portion of our Farm-to-School programs.
