Dear Nourish Friends and Supporters,
I am sad and excited to announce that this will be my last year with Nourish. I am sad because I will miss all the friends and good food connections I’ve made along the way. I am excited for my next chapter that may involve something with engineering, planning, food, sustainability or all the above. I am also excited for Nourish’s next chapter.
I have gained so much from my nearly 6 years with Nourish. I learned about our community, the impact of nonprofits, best practices in management, and so much more. I will be forever grateful.
During my time with Nourish, we:
became an official 501(c)(3) organization;
created infrastructure and a team of good-food professionals across the community and in schools;
increased our programming to more schools;
moved from shared space to leased space and now to our first permanent home at the Miley Barn in Sheboygan Falls.
Today, Nourish has:
its own beautiful land to grow food on and teach others how to grow, use and enjoy fresh foods;
a renovated barn with event rental space;
a capital campaign in progress to build a community kitchen and create several acres of educational gardens along with a group of amazing and talented staff;
a great Board of Directors, chartered committees, and two managers as part of the Nourish leadership team.
It’s time for a breath of fresh air and energy to take the Nourish vision and mission to the next level to improve the health of Sheboygan County.
I plan to stay on into fall and will make sure the next Nourish Executive Director and our team have a smooth transition.
Our Board of Directors will be accepting applications for the Nourish Executive Director position until August 15, 2019. Click this link for more information.
